Adobe Media Player

Adobe Media Player:  a desktop media player designed for both users and publishers; one of the first Adobe AIR applications.

The XD team was tasked to design a new type of Media Player: one that provided an amazing experience for users, with full control over their content and viewing, as well as value for publishers, highlighting their brands and supporting unobtrusive advertising.

Since Flash supported extremely high quality online video, Adobe chose to launch a media player that would showcase those extremely high value visuals. The advent of Adobe AIR created the perfect platform for the application, and the Experience Design team was tasked with creating a showcase application experience. I was program manager for the team, working with the product development team, our designers, and the product managers to realize a product that would redefine the online viewing experience.

The Adobe Media Player (AMP) was considered best-of-breed in terms of user experience, and one of the first players in the new online video arena.
